Quick Post- Rebel Chicken

Excellent Chicken and an amazing beer garden

With fairy lights at the entrance and a huge garden I am a bit surprised that we hadn’t heard much about it. That said, as a fairly new arrival to the Jewellery Quarter and with Rebel Desi next door it seemed like a good idea to head there and see what we could find.

We ended up in Rebel Chicken and instantly fell for the stripped back decor and the faux bison head mounted at the top of the stairs.

I went for a simple option of a ‘Dirty Bird’ , a piece of fried chicken served with chips,l Jordan had the Buttermilk Chicken Burger which comes with sriracha mayo but is essentially the same thing but in a bun as mine came topped with a bit of cheese too. As an extra we ordered some coleslaw and a side of Rebel Wings with a Honey and Soy dressing.

When we posted pictures on Instagram later that night, I had a lot of messages asking about it and in all honesty- it was really, really good. The chicken was tender but retained its texture and the coating crisp and well seasoned. Our wings were plump and well dressed (sounds like I am describing a person really but its an accurate description of what they were like) The slaw was freshly made and the fries still had their skin on which was a nice touch.

Price was exceptional with food and two drinks coming in at less than £40 for two people and our servers were all lovely. I’ve become a big fan of fried chicken of late and the more I think about it, the more convinced I am that this has just become my new number 1 chicken joint.

Top marks all round.
